A Toy for Noah - The Unveiling

Today, I finally finished up the little buggers toy crane. Over the weekend I set up a makeshift spray booth and shot it with lacquer.
And here is Noah's crane all ready to go.

I made a lot of mistakes on this project. Luckily none will show. Now I have to take the whole thing apart, so it'll fit into a suitcase. Even though this was only a toy, it presented this newbie quite a few new procedures. Hopefully, I'll get to Bisket's serving stand as soon as I get back.

Fall is just around the corner and with it comes a great deal of work. I need to insulate the garage for the dogs to hang out in during the day. Sylvia wanted to pull all the carpet, so I have a complete house worth of laminate to install, and then there is all the regular fall clean up before winter sets in. Hopefully, after that I can start making cabinets for the shop and get that puppy up and ready for whatever I end up planning.

Vic, you did an awesome job!!!!

How tall is the crane?

Kari and David, Thank you!

I made some bonehead mistakes on this, but managed to hide them fairly well. I'll let you know how young master Noah likes it.

Oh, and Kari, the toy is 25 inches tall.

Wow Vic that is the coolest looking 'toy' I've ever seen! I bet he treasures that for a very long time. Well Done!!!

Thank you so much Nicole. My wife Sylvia is delivering it to Noah in the next couple of days. I sure hope he loves it, too. Hopefully, I'll have some pictures of him playing with it to post soon.

Good on ya! I was really impressed with your finishing skills. I'm the idiot who always has to hold the smaller pieces to stain them, and justifies it by saying "It quicker this way". And every time I finish, I can see EVERY flipping fingerprint.

I know you wanted to get this done before your big trip, so when do you take off?

Good job on the toy again

Hey Kendall, yea about the trip.
Sylvia's there already. Long story, but my passport was expired and found out too late to get it reinstated. So, I'm staying home and ripping out all the carpet and installing the laminate flooring.
Maybe I'll blog it.

Hey Neil!! How ya been? Actually, I'm just about ready to crawl under the shop to get some measurements for a DC system I'm ordering. I already have the Gorilla 3HP on the way, just have to finish the duct design. That's been the only thing bugging me. Moving the hoses around to use stuff. It still beats the heck outta my old situation, which was moving all the tools, all the time. Hopefully, while I'm the unit will get here while I'm still on vacation.
